- We should post a link to our Dropbox files as well!
- EMAIL DR. LU ASAP
- Reorganize how we manage tasks
Meeting Topics
- Progress Report
- Change of scope
- Revision of team task distribution
Important Notes
- Put more expertise onto the bottleneck portions of our project
- If we work hard and don’t make it to the competition, we won’t fail
Transcript (Notes)
- Mechanical Design
- Showed CAD model again
- Flange, bolts instead of clamps
- Waiting for parts to build
- Ordering from McMaster’s this time
- Goal is to get everything into shop before end of semester
- Arduinos
- Fixed weird PWM signal by using correct motor driver datasheets
- Tested with batteries and power
- Next step is testing the sensors
- Depth sensor is kind of troublesome since the connectors are indistinguishable
- Computer vision
- Installed ROS, OpenCV
- OpenCV runs the sample programs
- Integration is still a major headache
- We can now split the problem into separate integration and OpenCV coding
- Sponsorship packet
- Darryl should hopefully be able to pick up the list of sponsors at 2pm today
- Change of scope
- Our mechanical design should be fine for next year
- It’s fine to put an extra emphasis on documentation
- Competition should still be a goal, but don’t worry about failing if we can’t do it
- Set best programmers on OpenCV?
- Leaves our team to decide how we split up
- Sees OpenCV as the major bottleneck (may be influenced by his personal expertise)
- Whatever we identify as the biggest hurdle: allot the largest portion of our manpower to this to make sure
- Document what we’ve done so far (of course)
- Dr. Amin asked Dr. Clark if there were graduate students who might want to help
- Dr. Amin and Dr. Clark suggest that we un-prioritize the presentations, side projects, etc. in favor of working on bottlenecks
